Hi ! My name is Nick Bennett and I am the owner of Bennett Education Services! Over the last ten years I have assisted a wide range of clients from ex-pats to primary school children to university students to Business Professionals, all willing to raise their standard of English (or Maths!)./em>
Everyday English:, a common theme I see amongst my clients is a frustration to express themselves adequately in both the written and spoken form. This is due to a variety of factors. Most commonly, they are people whose mother-tongue is not English, and hence their exposure to the language "pre-arrival" is based on textbook analysis and study only. Upon arriving in their new country, they are suddenly bombarded with a language that doesn't behave as expected ! This experience extends not only to their everyday interactions, but also to their Business Communication and Academic Fields of Study. My aim at Bennett Education Services is to "fill these gaps" as it were ! Lessons are tailored specifically to the individuals specific needs and wants. I focus on exactly where you want to head with the language, not what I want !
For Business Professionals, I help develop: email writing, report writing, presenting to boards, addressing conferences to even the simple things such as becoming conversant in common business expressions and general etiquette and expressions.
For IELTS/PTE students, I focus on building meaningful everyday expressions that you can use and adapt to many different situations. Common requests involve being able to ask for and understand directions, filling in forms correctly, conversational skills and reading for comprehension.
In regards to Mathematics, I primarily cater to Secondary School students up to and including HSC General 1 & 2 levels. Whilst my students show a capability for the subject, without a strong teacher to see them through the subtleties of the language of math (and yes ! it is a language !), they often fall behind, through no fault of their own. I take them back to the beginning, in essence, and rebuild their knowledge through extending the meaning they apply to mathematical concepts. I take advantage of their preferred modes of learning, in the process making mathematics their friend and not their enemy !
My business is mobile-based, meaning I come to you, at your preferred time and place. I can deliver lessons in your home, at your office or on campus. If it's an editing or proofreading service you are seeking, you may not even have to leave your chair!
